Experience with Organizations
I have been part of a large organisation while working as an intern with J.P. Morgan. The company had many levels within their organizational structure due to the high scale of their business. As an intern I was at the lowest level of the structure and mainly worked and interacted with graduates, seniors, managers and HR. The interns were allocated into various streams within the M&A divisions such as technology, media and communications, energy and resources and consumer products. This creates a horizontal structure within the firm. Throughout my internship, I realised how important the communication is in an organization. The level of communications and teamwork had to be exceptional to create efficiency in the team’s work. I took my park to increase this communication by talking with fellow interns to align our work and updating my manager with my progress.
